Manufacturing Company SEO Case Study

The following case study outlines our SEO results for a manufacturing client written ~4 months into their SEO campaign. During this time, we have achieved page-one rankings for their main service lines for both state-wide and nationwide keywords. The following case study outlines our strategy and approach for doing so. 

 

The Opportunity

The client came to us as their customer acquisition was solely through word of mouth and referral channels, and they wished to build a consistent source of organic leads. They had already been investing in content writing for several years, but hundreds of blogs later had not seen a true increase in rankings. 

The following issues were stopping website rankings:

  • Keyword Stuffing: They were targeting multiple, unrelated keywords in each title tag. 
  • Generalist Content: Available content was general, could be written by generative AI, and lacked authoritative positioning. 
  • No Specific Service or Use Case Pages: The website listed all services and use cases on one page, limiting keyword targeting options and creating difficulty in fulfilling search intent. 

 

The company came to Focus Digital with the following goals:

  • Rank for revenue-driving keywords related to their areas of service
  • Clean up their website to include more authoritative content
  • Acquire new customers to manufacture components for

 

The Solution

Focus Digital implemented a thought leadership-based SEO strategy on the website, publishing the most authoritative content on Google for the services and materials they work with most often. We itemized their most important keywords and grouped them into topical clusters to work with the niche expertise segment of the Google algorithm. 

In addition to mapping the content plan, we also updated the keywords on each of their existing pages to ensure the keywords synergized properly with the content on the page to fulfill the search intent. This allowed rankings to immediately increase while our content team began producing the authoritative content needed to obtain and hold first-page rankings. 

Our in-house writing team became subject matter experts on the subset of manufacturing the client provides, allowing us to continually write the best content on Google for their service lines. This content stands the test of time and allows the company, while small, to outrank some of the largest competitors in the US. 

 

The Results – 4 Months Later

  • First-page rankings in California for their eight main services
  • First-page rankings nationally for six of eight main services 
  • Authoritative content on main website pages driving leads
  • 100% increase in organic traffic

Four months into content publication, the client holds rankings on the first page for their 8 main services when searched in the state of California. They also rank nationally on the first page for 6/8 main services along with sub-categories of each service. 

The total number of keywords ranked has expanded dramatically, and the client received a 100% increase in organic traffic over the course of our campaign.

Future Outlook

Progressing through this campaign, we will be looking to achieve the following:

  • Increase rankings through the publication of shareable data and insights
  • Write authoritative content for industries served and manufacturing hubs
